4 great tips for packing your bedroom when moving

Packing a bedroom can feel daunting. Rooms hide storage, living space, and sometimes an office in one place. This Liffey Moving guide should make packing easier for you and for the crew on moving day.

4 great tips for packing your bedroom when moving

1. Declutter

Start with the wardrobe, then cabinets and other storage. Divide items to throw away, keep, donate, or sell. Try on clothing you are unsure about. Find books, old phones, and unused items. Avoid packing the bedroom only to regret throwing things out by mistake.

2. Packing items that you may need

Get supplies in order so you know what you still need. Liffey can provide many bedroom packing supplies. Typical items include packing boxes, bubble wrap, shrink wrap, packing paper, labels, wrapping tape, garbage bags, cleaning supplies, mattress covers and boxes, and tools for disassembling furniture. See the moving boxes guide.

3. It is time to start packing your bedroom

Pack last to first: items you will not need immediately first, then bed sheets, pillows, and overnight clothes for the first night. Inventory items, locations, and box numbers. Note whose bedroom it is and whether contents are essential, fragile, or clothing so the crew can place boxes correctly.

4. Valuable items

Label and pack sentimental or high-value items carefully and tell the crew. Glassware, laptops, and other fragile items shift if they are not wrapped and spaced correctly.
