Local moving notes
Moving in Long Island City
Many waterfront and Court Square towers ask for certificates of insurance, reserved elevators, and a written loading protocol. Treat those buildings like Manhattan high-rises unless management says otherwise. Inland walk-ups and older rentals still need stairs counted honestly.
Residential and commercial inventory can share a tower. Know which occupancy you have. A live-work loft and a pure apartment are different quotes.
Moves to Manhattan, Williamsburg, or Astoria are local and still hinge on whatever elevator window LIC management assigned. If that window is missed, the rest of the day often has to be replanned — Liffey does not guarantee a catch-up slot.
