Local moving notes
Moving in Williamsburg
Newer elevator buildings can ask for the same paperwork as Manhattan high-rises: certificates of insurance and a reserved cab. Older walk-ups farther from the waterfront are still stairs-and-stoops jobs.
Lofts hold more than bedroom count suggests. Send an inventory. Some newer buildings have a loading area; many older ones do not. Do not assume a dock from listing photos.
Moves to Greenpoint, LIC, or Manhattan still need both buildings described. Crossing the river does not simplify a walk-up origin.
