Local moving notes
Moving on the Upper East Side
Many buildings here require advance notice, a certificate of insurance, and a reserved elevator. Those are building rules, not Liffey inventions. Collect what management already sent you and share it when you request a quote.
Pre-war co-ops and newer condos sit a few blocks apart. One may have a freight elevator and a service entrance; another may only allow a padded passenger elevator during a narrow weekday window. The estimate should reflect the actual building, not a generic “Manhattan high-rise.”
Moves within the Upper East Side still need two building plans. A hop from Yorkville to Carnegie Hill can be a short ride and a completely different set of house rules.
